Default "Biblis" after William Bouguereau

I have just completed my rendition of William Bouguereau's 'Biblis' - Oil on canvas board. This was a challenging exercise.

I'm not familiar with the original, but boy, have you got her glowing. What a task to set yourself. Are you learning heaps??

Thanks everybody for your comments. I knew from the start I wouldn't be able to come anywhere close to the original. I chose to leave out a lot of detail in the background and concentrate more on the figure. Yes I am leaning a lot - always by making mistakes. I will attach a larger pic and a closer detail pic as well.

Here is a link if you would like to see the original work. http://www.artrenewal.org/pages/artw...p?artworkid=62 - makes my attempt look very clumsy!

nice job, feels like a Modern version - which is good I think. there is so much to learn from the Masters, great to do copies.

you have some very nice paintings on your website. I like to use Flemish technique but often have trouble at the last couple of stages, perhaps I can hit you up with a few questions at some stage!

John,
Bouguereau would make most people look clumsy!
Yours is a valiant attempt.
