Puppet building classes in Melbourne

For the first time in Melbourne, we’re presenting puppet building classes for adults.

Puppets in Melbourne is a young puppet making company, and we’re now offering ‘muppet’ building classes. Puppetry is not only vibrant and alive in Melbourne, but it’s often hidden from the general public; we want to open the craft to those around us.

Over six weeks, participants can learn everything about making and using their very own muppet, from the basics of puppet design to building with foam and methods of operation. Best of all, no patterns are used, so the puppets will be customised to how participants want them to look.

You don’t have to have craft experience, just enthusiasm!



Dates: Saturdays 10.30am - 1.30pm. 9 Aug, 16 Aug, 23 Aug, 30 Aug, 6 Sept, 13 Sept 2008
Sundays 10.30am - 1.30pm. 31 Aug, 7 Sept, 14 Sept, 21 Sept, 28 Sept, 5 Oct 2008

Venue: Carlton Library, 667 Rathdowne St, Nth Carlton
Fees: $280 (including materials and tools). 10% discount for students.

Places are limited to 10 a session. The workshops are for late teens and adults only.
